Heaton Park Food Festival @ Heaton Park

3-4 August

The Heaton Park Food Festival is back and better than ever. Dive into a culinary adventure with over 85 market traders, live music, and culinary talks. Whether you're an aspiring chef eager to learn at the Live Cookery Theatre or a foodie ready to sample delicious treats, there’s something for everyone. Plus, there’s a packed itinerary for children under 12, making it a perfect family outing.

Build Manchester: Adidas Skate Plaza @ Aviva Studios, Factory International

27 July - 8 August

Aviva Studios is transforming into a custom-built public skate plaza to host Adidas Skate boarding's global skateboarding event, Build. Partnering with Manchester's most influential skate communities, Build Manchester presents a series of free events that celebrates skate culture both on and off-board. The skate festival takes place over 12-days and will feature open-to-all skate contests, skate school, product launches, exclusive giveaways exhibitions, film premieres, workshops, DJ sets, as well as the chance to see adidas' global team rider’s skate. Whether you're a expert skater or just a fan of skating, this event is guaranteed to be a lot of fun!

Romeo & Juliet @ Albert Hall

12-17 August

Experience Baz Luhrmann's iconic 1996 film, Romeo & Juliet, like never before. Screened under the stunning stained-glass windows of Albert Hall and accompanied by a live choir, this Backyard Cinema event offers a magical and immersive experience. Sing along to the unforgettable soundtrack and enjoy the film in a uniquely beautiful setting.

MOOVIN Festival @ Whitebottom Farm, Stockport

23-25 August

The festival that’s been known as ‘Manchester’s best kept secret’ is returning for its tenth year in a stunning countryside setting in Stockport, Whitebottom Farm. Spanning a wide range of music genres from reggae and drum and bass, to funk, house and soul, the festival has a brilliant line-up including Reggae legend David Rodigan, Afro Beats pioneer Sampa The Great and Crazy P’s iconic soulful, disco DJ Sets. If you’re a music lover and want to embrace a local festival this bank holiday, this one’s for you!

Manchester Swimrun @ Chorlton Water Park

18 August

If you're up for a challenge, the Manchester Swimrun (MSR) is coming to town for the third year! SwimRun’s are a newer sporting sensation sweeping the globe so it’s only right to host some in Manchester! The event includes 1,500 metres of open water swimming and 10.5 kilometres of trail running. The run route is around the lovely Chorlton Water Park and Kenworthy Woods, with the swim section taking place within the Chorlton Water Park Lake itself. Organised by USWIM, the team behind Dock 9, Salford Quays, it's a thrilling opportunity to experience this unique event in a central North West location!

Festa Italiana @ Cathedral Gardens

23-25 August

Celebrate Italian culture at Festa Italiana, a vibrant festival organised by the owner of Salvi’s. With pasta-making classes, live music, cooking demonstrations, and all the pizza you can eat, Cathedral Gardens transforms into a little piece of Italy. Last year drew over 40,000 visitors, and this year promises to be even bigger!

Summer of Sports @ Manchester Printworks

Printworks is hosting a summer-long sports extravaganza perfect for families to enjoy weekly gaming sessions, a basketball tournament, children’s archery classes, and appearances from famous faces. The new digital ceiling will amaze visitors with animations of athletes, creating an immersive experience. Events taking place include Interactive Gaming with Remmel Dawodu on 1 August, Slam Dunk-a-Basketball Tournament on the 8th August, and Kids’ Archery on the 15th August, plus many more!

Happy Place Festival @ Tatton Park

31 August

As summer winds down, take a moment for some self-care at the Happy Place Festival. Created by Fearne Cotton, this festival offers an uplifting weekend of wellbeing with talks from inspiring figures like Gary and Emma Neville, Olivia Attwood, and Gemma Merna. Enjoy live music, yoga, and a chance to relax or let your hair down before the back-to-school rush begins.
