Ancoats-based property developer Northern Group has secured local neighbourhood pizzeria chain, Rudy’s for one of its recently acquired high street units in Didsbury Village.
After being vacant for two years, the popular restaurant will be taking over the former Mad Giant food hall on Wilmslow Road high street.
The pizzeria concept was first launched in Ancoats and has since recently opened in Chapel Allerton, Sheffield, Chorlton and Didsbury village and has 5 other sites under offer.
Property consultants Sixteen Real Estate acted for Rudy’s, securing an initial 15-year lease for Rudy’s multiple venture hospitality operator, Mission Mars.
“Rudy’s have been looking for a location in Didsbury for some time, this property stood out due to the outside space and prominence on the high street. Works have started on site today and the target opening date is early to mid-October.” Alex Haigh from Sixteen Real Estate.
The 3,600sqft restaurant will be split over two floors and will be situated next to Slug and Lettuce, Croma and Head of Steam.
“Rudy’s was one of the first independents to operate on Cutting Room Square in Ancoats Urban Village. We are confident they will be a welcomed addition to Didsbury Village” says Paul Dobbs, Chief Operating Officer, Northern Group, who has developed a number of sites in Ancoats including Ice Plant, Jactin House and One Silk Street.
“Anchor tenants like Rudy’s can be great news for local neighbourhoods”
